Dreamspark es el beneficio que tiene Microsoft para todos los estudiantes de donde pueden descargar herramientas de desarrollo de todos los tipos disponibles completamente gratuitos.
Estas son algunas de las herramientas disponibles en el DreamSpark:
- Visual Studio 2010 Professional – Desarrollo de software en diferentes lenguajes de programación
- Windows Phone – Desarrollo de aplicaciones para dispositivos móviles con Windows Phone
- Windows Server 2008 R2 Professional Edition – Desarrollo de aplicaciones para servidores.
- SQLServer 2008 Developer – Desarrollo de bases de datos
- Expression Studio 4 - Desarrollo en ambientes gráficos
- XNA Game Studio 3.1 – Desarrollo de video- juegos para consolas XBox y plataformas Microsoft
- Robotics Developer Studio 2008 R3 – Desarrollo para Robots Microsoft
- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 – Desarrollo para aplicaciones embebidas
- Microsoft Virtual PC – Desarrollo para aplicaciones en virtualización.
¿Como funciona?
Primero debe iniciar sesión en la página de DreamSpark usando el usuario Live@Edu de la universidad. Una vez esté verificado el correo como válido por el sitio de DreamSpark solo tienes que descargar el software disponible y la su licencia y empezar a usarlo. Es asà de sencillo. Todo el software disponible en DreamSpark está en sus versiones finales.
DreamSpark fue creado con el propósito de apoyar a los estudiantes en su educación y promover la creatividad de los jovenes desarrolladores en sus múltiples plataformas.
Ademas del acceso a la descarga de software, DreamSpark tiene enlaces muy interesantes a sitios de apoyo a los desarrolladores como por ejemplo el XBOX 360 Game Development, Getting Started with Visual Studio y Expression Starter Kits entre otros.
