Spencer Fordham

Spencer Fordham has been an English Language teacher for almost 17 years and has worked all around the world not just as a teacher but also an advisor to many different education sectors.

Co-founder of Capital SE Ltd. Spencer and his wife and fellow Director Paulina Fordham, founded the School 10 years ago and now is one of the most highly accredited centres in the UK.

The school has grown to offer not only year round Adult programmes, but also has a dedicated Young Learners Centre.

The institution has gained the respect of its partners and has built a very strong reputation, always striving for excellence and maintaining very exacting standards where Every Student Matters.

As a member of Education UK and English UK and a permanent sponsor of ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) and Quality English, Mr. Fordham spends a considerable amount of time travelling the world observing and advising Schools, Academies, Colleges and Universities on new teaching techniques and methodologies.

He has recognised the importance of active learning in what is very much still perceived as a passive process.

Through correct training and realisation that languages are active and need a lot of learner input, Spencer and his academic team at CSE have designed seminar programmes to stimulate students awareness of how to study the language correctly and the importance of learner autonomy.

One of their recent developments is an E-Learning platform, which is an innovative programme that involves cutting edge, web-based learning and technology together with highly interactive student-centred materials.

The methodology provides an ideal opportunity to develop an individual’s level of English whilst being able to remain within their home country. After the recognised success of this method in partnership with LLC Moscow

Yard and 4 of the most prestigious State run Colleges in Russia, there has been considerable interest shown in the programme, due its quality, flexibility, personalization and cost-effectiveness . At present there is planned cooperation with higher education institutions in Brazil, Colombia, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
