The educational model at Icesi encourages active learning. It works to strengthen the fundamental values of a fair and just society and to develop in the student body necessary specific skills to perform effectively within organizations. The curriculum is designed to balance a liberal education with professionalism. At Icesi, education is a serious and permanent commitment assumed by students to gather knowledge through research, study and practice. Teachers perform the role of guides and designers of educational experiences to maximize various teaching, learning and research processes. The educational model helps students interpret situations and seek perspectives oriented toward problem solving. It also helps them develop and defend their own positions in comparison with other points of view. The Icesi student assumes the responsibility to find questions which develop his critical and his judgmental skills. At Icesi, the curriculum plan and content is revised continuously to include scientific progess, as well as technical and sociological changes, in order to affirm global orientation to each undergraduate learning activity. This is in response to globalization found today in all business dealings. Our students will acquire the necessary tools to interpret and respond quickly and efficiently to new realities and needs of today's organizations.
