All Icesi students are provided with tools to skillfully manage the technological advances that appear daily in information technology. They learn to be comfortable using the Internet to do research in areas related to their field of study.
   

Some of our academic majors require concentrated effort to acquire the scientific expertise needed to handle applications requiring leading edge technology.

Computer Rooms

   

Information resources available to the teaching staff are organized in work modules in eight computer rooms. These rooms have a variety of computers of different brands and configurations, all inter-connected and with access to Internet.
   

In accordance to training needs, students work with various operating systems (UNIX, Windows, Windows NT, Netware, Solaris) and with programs covering areas such as program language, electronic spread sheets, word processors, statistical packs, software for financial simulations, tools from Case for software engineering, data base systems, programs for industrial design and print editing.
   

Icesi University has formal agreements with major manufacturers and providers of information technology such as IBM, Compaq, Oracle, Datecsa, Sun Microsystems, SAP and Compunet. Through these agreements students become knowledgeable about a wide range of software and hardware products with the latest technology.
