Our students spend two weeks in New Orleans, United States, where they take the following courses taught by Tulane faculty: Managing People Globally, Leadership and Ethics, and New Venture Creation. They also visit companies and attend lectures on business trends.

Learn more Good marketing is not about gimmicks. It is not about pushing products onto people. Marketing’s true mission is to improve people’s quality of life while meeting organizational objectives. In this course, students will learn how to use marketing frameworks and analytics to guide marketing decisions. Teachers will help to learn how to choose market segments for growth, tap customer insights to guide decisions, deploy the marketing mix, and finally, use customer value estimates to guide advertising and investment decisions.

Learn more It is known that some firms systematically perform better than other firms that operate in the same industry. The key premise is that the performance variations are influenced by the top managers’ strategic choices. To learn how to make better strategic choices, this course works on understanding the industry structure, and the process of value creation and appropriation. A closer look is given at the structure-conduct-performance framework, the resource-based theory, the organizational capabilities lens, as well as on the challenges typical for global and multinational companies.

Learn more The Professional Development Plan (PDP) is developed throughout the entire academic program and focuses on awareness, learning and conscious distinctions. This first course allows its students to generate an expansion of the level of awareness regarding the leader that each one wants to be, the one that they are being, and from this, define their professional vision and career, considering their values and goals.

Learn more It is hard to imagine a skill that is more critical for success in business than negotiations. Negotiation is a process of capturing and creating value through discussion and voluntary agreement. The present course approaches this process from the perspective that negotiating is a skill – and a skill that can be taught – and that the best way to learn that skill is by practicing negotiations. However, the present course will also build negotiating skills in a global context, which is much more complex.

Learn more As the fourth and last step of this exploratory process, PDP facilitates students to acquire tools that allow them to make more effective and comprehensive decisions, as a product of the progress and introspection developed in the previous semesters. Learn more The modularity of business model strategies allows a reference framework to propose, explore and disrupt traditional models. This course, as the third step in the innovation axis, introduces the different structures that current business models present under a modern and lean approach. Through an innovation process, students are challenged to design an intrapreneurship or entrepreneurship proposal.

AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business), organization founded in the United States in 1916 by universities such as Harvard, Columbia and Yale, which accredits only the best business schools in the world. Only 5% of the best business schools in the world have this accreditation, 23 in Latin America and only 4 in Colombia.
In 2015, the Ministry of National Education granted Icesi University the renewal of the High Quality Institutional Accreditation until 2021. This is a recognition of the permanent commitment of Icesi within the region and the country, to maintain high standards of quality in the development of the functions of training, research and social outreach, as well as administrative support work.
As a result of the institutional tradition of self-evaluation and continuous improvement, the Global MBA of the School of Business and Economics Studies of the Universidad Icesi obtained the High Quality Accreditation granted by the Ministry of National Education (MEN) in 2018. This accreditation was granted for a period of eight (8) years, the lengthiest accreditation granted by the MEN, making it the first graduate program in Icesi to receive such a recognition.
In the 2021 edition of the QS GLobal MBA Ranking, which brought together the select group of the best 258 programs from around the world, from 40 countries, only two colombian institutions qualified. Universidad Icesi, which participated for the first time this year, was one of them.
Global MBA students have access to multiple pedagogical resources offered by the University to strengthen learning processes.
The magazine América Economía of Chile annually publishes the "Latin American MBA Ranking" that positions the best business schools in the continent. Business schools from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, among many others feature in this ranking. In 2021, Universidad Icesi’s MBA was ranked in 11th place in Latin America and 2nd in Colombia.
