M\u00f3nica Ramirez Carvalho, Bi\u00f3loga de la Universidad de Antioquia, con una Maestr\u00eda en Geociencias\u00a0de Penn State University y un Doctorado en Bot\u00e1nica de la Universidad de Cornell. Su principal enfoque de investigaci\u00f3n es la evoluci\u00f3n de las plantas en diferentes ecosistemas tropicales y temperados, para lo cual ha estudiado f\u00f3siles de hojas, frutos y semillas de diversos grupos de plantas en Colombia, Argentina, Panam\u00e1 y Norte Am\u00e9rica.
