Asimismo, por transmisi\u00f3n sexual, el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH) y el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) a\u00fan poseen una prevalencia y mortalidad considerable en el pa\u00eds. Adicionalmente y con la actual pandemia, el virus del SARS-CoV-2 cobr\u00f3 gran relevancia; y por \u00faltimo, por problem\u00e1ticas de producci\u00f3n y econom\u00eda, est\u00e1n los potato virus que infectan solan\u00e1ceas(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021), (Rico-Mendoza et al., 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"que-son-los-virus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 son los virus?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b\u200bOriginalmente, los virus se definieron como agentes infecciosos microsc\u00f3picos que pasaban a trav\u00e9s de filtros que reten\u00edan las c\u00e9lulas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as. Despu\u00e9s, los virus se consideraron par\u00e1sitos intracelulares obligados, cuya reproducci\u00f3n depende de sus anfitriones celulares para el suministro de energ\u00eda y los componentes b\u00e1sicos moleculares. No obstante, estas caracter\u00edsticas son insuficientes para definirlos sin ambig\u00fcedades, ya que el uso de cualquier definici\u00f3n de virus basada en la presencia o ausencia de cualquier subconjunto de genes o caracter\u00edsticas f\u00edsicas suelen ser ambiguas, no se aplican ampliamente y, lo que es m\u00e1s importante, son propensas a cambiar con nuevos descubrimientos (Koonin et al., 2021). De manera que, los virus pueden definirse mejor por sus propiedades gen\u00e9ricas de diseminaci\u00f3n y propagaci\u00f3n del genoma (Barr &amp; Fearns, 2016). Seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), es el arbovirus que se propaga m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en todo el mundo, consider\u00e1ndose end\u00e9mico en varias regiones del mundo como en Am\u00e9rica Central, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Per\u00fa, entre otros. El dengue es ocasionado por cualquiera de los cuatro serotipos del virus (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 y DENV-4) que no desencadenan inmunidad cruzada; la infecci\u00f3n que causa el virus resulta en un amplio espectro de presentaciones cl\u00ednicas, que van desde formas asintom\u00e1ticas y subcl\u00ednicas hasta cuadros muy graves con compromiso vascular, afecci\u00f3n de \u00f3rganos y sistemas que se asocian a mortalidad (Ross, 2010).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las formas de control de la transmisi\u00f3n de la enfermedad es mediante la prevenci\u00f3n de la reproducci\u00f3n de los vectores, los cuales son mosquitos del g\u00e9nero <em>Stegomyia (Aedes)<\/em>. El mosquito <em>Stegomyia aegypti<\/em> se ha considerado, tradicionalmente, como el principal vector en la propagaci\u00f3n de esta enfermedad, ya que habita zonas urbanas. Sin embargo, <em>Stegomyia albopicta<\/em> es considerado el principal vector en algunas regiones de Europa y Asia, aunque comparte h\u00e1bitat con <em>St. aegypti<\/em>. El mosquito <em>St. albopicta<\/em> se caract eriza por vivir en entornos rurales, pero con una mayor tolerancia para ambientes fr\u00edos, puesto que se han encontrado por encima de los 2200 msnm, present\u00e1ndose en zonas geogr\u00e1ficas las cuales el vector <em>St. aegypti<\/em> antes no se encontraba (Fernando, 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tincidunt-veni-tellus-orci-aenean-consectetuer\"><span id=\"zika\"><strong>Zika<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El virus del Zika fue identificado por primera vez en 1947 en \u00e1frica oriental y hasta el a\u00f1o 2015 tuvo aparici\u00f3n en Am\u00e9rica Latina, espec\u00edficamente en Brasil. A finales del mismo a\u00f1o, se dieron los primeros reportes de casos asociados al virus en Colombia en el departamento de Bol\u00edvar. La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ha aclarado que, si bien el virus Zika no causa una enfermedad letal, es altamente incapacitante. Ahora bien, en cuanto a la transmisi\u00f3n del virus, el mosquito <em>Stegomyia aegypti <\/em>es el vector principal, que adem\u00e1s de servir de veh\u00edculo para el virus, es generalmente com\u00fan en zonas tropicales (Petersen et al, 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Zika es un virus que causa un espectro cl\u00ednico vers\u00e1til, que va desde casos asintom\u00e1ticos hasta cuadros febriles leves o moderados-graves. Las formas sintom\u00e1ticas tienen una duraci\u00f3n promedio de 4 a 7 d\u00edas y se caracterizan por presentar s\u00edntomas como fiebre, conjuntivitis no purulenta, dolor retro-ocular, sarpullido, dolor en articulaciones, v\u00f3mito, diarrea o dolor abdominal. Para finalizar, el Zika es una enfermedad de la cual se tiene conocimiento que ocurre solo una vez en la vida; sin embargo, se ha encontrado evidencia que ha permitido relacionar casos con implicaciones posteriores a contraerla, tales como: microcefalia en neonatos procedentes de madres que hayan padecido el virus durante el embarazo y en la poblaci\u00f3n en general (adultos y ni\u00f1os mayores) con problemas autoinmunes asociados al s\u00edndrome Guillan Barre (Petersen et al, 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tincidunt-veni-tellus-orci-aenean-consectetuer\"><span id=\"sars-cov-2\"><strong><strong>SARS-CoV-2<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El s\u00edndrome respiratorio agudo severo coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) es un coronavirus altamente transmisible y pat\u00f3geno que surgi\u00f3 a fines de 2019, y ha causado una pandemia de enfermedad respiratoria aguda denominada &#8216;enfermedad por coronavirus 2019&#8217; (COVID-19), que amenaza la salud de los humanos y la seguridad ciudadana. El SARS-CoV-2 porta uno de los genomas de ARN m\u00e1s grandes (~30 kilobases, kb) entre todas las familias de virus de ARN y codifica alrededor de 29 prote\u00ednas (Mahase, 2020).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los coronavirus son un grupo diverso de virus que infectan a diversos animales y pueden causar infecciones respiratorias de leves a graves en humanos (Jiang et al, 2020). En 2002 y 2012, dos coronavirus altamente pat\u00f3genos con origen zoon\u00f3tico, el coronavirus del s\u00edndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV) y el coronavirus del s\u00edndrome respiratorio de Oriente Medio (MERS-CoV), surgieron en humanos y causando enfermedades respiratorias fatales, lo que convirti\u00f3 a los coronavirus emergentes en un nuevo problema de salud p\u00fablica en el siglo XXI (Jiang et al, 2020). A finales de 2019, un nuevo coronavirus designado como SARS-CoV-2 surgi\u00f3 en la ciudad de Wuhan, China, y provoc\u00f3 un brote de neumon\u00eda viral inusual. No obstante, algunos de los s\u00edntomas frecuentes incluyen fiebre, tos, dolores musculares, diarrea, dolor de cabeza, secreciones nasales, malestar general y fatiga. Generalmente, estos s\u00edntomas aparecen con rapidez tras la infecci\u00f3n (Riou et al. 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading cnvs-block-core-heading-1668708943958\" id=\"tincidunt-veni-tellus-orci-aenean-consectetuer\"><span id=\"tratamientos\"><strong>Tratamientos<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Los tratamientos antivirales consisten en interferir con la replicaci\u00f3n de virus o prevenir tanto el contagio, como s\u00edntomas graves, mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de vacunas que alertan al sistema inmune del paciente (Mahak, 2020).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No existe ning\u00fan&nbsp; tratamiento farmacol\u00f3gico espec\u00edfico aprobado para infecciones por Dengue ni para Zika, mientras que para las infecciones por SARS-CoV-2 se aprob\u00f3 el uso de Paxlovid, un medicamento antiviral&nbsp; (Marzi, 2020; Alshanqueeti et al, 2022). En cuanto a las vacunas para estas infecciones, existe una vacuna autorizada para la prevenci\u00f3n de la infecci\u00f3n por dengue llamada Dengvaxia, aunque su uso est\u00e1 muy restringido, por lo cual no constituye un m\u00e9todo de prevenci\u00f3n que pueda ser usado masivamente; mientras que para el virus del Zika, no existen vacunas. Por otro lado, para el SARS-CoV-2 existen numerosas vacunas aprobadas mundialmente, que demuestran una alta efectividad frente a la gravedad de la enfermedad (Riou et al. 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t<style
