For 26 years, Red Hat has maintained and further contributed to the development and distribution of GNU\/Linux. Several years ago, they created a branch of the Red Hat GNU\/Linux distribution under the name of the Fedora Project.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Matthew Miller, Fedora Project Leader, published \u200bthat IBM has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redhat.com\/en\/about\/press-releases\/ibm-closes-landmark-acquisition-red-hat-34-billion-defines-open-hybrid-cloud-future\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finalized its acquisition of Red Hat<\/a>, clarifying that it will operate as a distinct unit within IBM. Red Hat also continue participating in the Fedora Project, maintaining the IBM&#8217;s committment to open source.
