{"id":3990,"date":"2017-09-07T14:57:50","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T19:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.icesi.edu.co\/marketingzone\/?p=3990"},"modified":"2018-03-12T16:06:10","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T21:06:10","slug":"sector-retail-colombia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.icesi.edu.co\/marketingzone\/sector-retail-colombia\/","title":{"rendered":"El SECTOR RETAIL EN COLOMBIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El comprador colombiano es parte fundamental de los resultados de econom\u00eda en el pa\u00eds, cada vez m\u00e1s activo, exigente y detallado en sus decisiones, con diversas alternativas donde realizar sus compras como en las grandes superficies, hipermercados, cadenas de supermercados, tiendas de conveniencia, tiendas de barrio, entre otras, que le permite poder seleccionar la mejor opci\u00f3n de compra de acuerdo a su percepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En la historia colombiana importantes empresarios tuvieron gran influencia en la creaci\u00f3n de establecimientos de ventas al detal. El primer formato fu\u00e9 creado en Bogot\u00e1 por Jos\u00e9 Carulla con el nombre de \u201cEl escudo Catal\u00e1n\u201d que posteriormente se convirti\u00f3 en supermercados Carulla. En el a\u00f1o 1922 inici\u00f3 Almacenes Ley de origen barranquillero, conformando en 1953 la firma propietaria Cadenalco \u201cGran Cadena de Almacenes Colombianos\u201d; hacia 1949 en el centro de Medell\u00edn, abre sus puertas Almacenes \u00c9xito con un establecimiento peque\u00f1o de venta de telas. Entre los a\u00f1os 1960-1969 prolifero la apertura de nuevos negocios, iniciando en 1967 operaciones la cadena Pomona que fu\u00e9 adquirida luego por Cadenalco en 1993, en 1968 se inaugura la primera Supertienda Olimpica, nace la cadena Vivero en Barranquilla en 1969 y a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde (2002) se fusiona con Carullla y se crea Carulla-Vivero.<\/p>\n<p>El final e inicio del siglo fueron trascendentales para el desarrollo del negocio minorista en Colombia, generando mucha actividad y cambios en el sector retail. En 1994 llega a Colombia la cadena holandesa Makro; en 1988 se establece en el pa\u00eds la cadena francesa Carrefour; en 1999 a trav\u00e9s de Almacenes \u00c9xito el grupo franc\u00e9s Casino; en 2007, Almacenes \u00c9xito adquiere Carulla-Vivero, y en este mismo a\u00f1o el grupo franc\u00e9s Casino adquiri\u00f3 el 61,% de las acciones de Almacenes \u00c9xito consolidada en la actualidad como la compa\u00f1\u00eda l\u00edder del comercio al detal en Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>Desde finales del siglo anterior la presencia de empresas multinacionales que compiten en la venta al detal ha sido notable desde la cadena Sodimac a trav\u00e9s de Home Center, la espa\u00f1ola Mango, el grupo financiero Falabella de Chile, el consorcio empresarial chileno Cencosud en 2007 adquiere Carrefuor y se asoci\u00f3 con el grupo Casino con participaci\u00f3n accionaria de Casino con el 30% y de Cencosud 70%, dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde en 2009 Cencosud adquiere el 30% de las acciones de Casino y a partir del 2011 PriceSmart con un formato diferente de los acostumbrados en el pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Los estilos del consumo en Colombia han cambiado significativamente promovidos por las condiciones de la coyuntura econ\u00f3mica, siendo este comportamiento lo que ha hecho que el negocio minorista en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os haya evolucionado en todo el territorio, fomentando nuevas estrategias que garanticen fidelizaci\u00f3n y conquista de nuevos clientes. El canal TAT o canal tradicional tiene una alta participaci\u00f3n en el mercado, siendo el 50 % de consumidores los que optan por realizar sus compras a trav\u00e9s de este canal dada su penetraci\u00f3n y cercan\u00eda, generando as\u00ed la conformaci\u00f3n de un mercado muy amplio y convirtiendo a las tiendas de barrio en uno de los principales negocios del
