PROESA conducts a joint project with collaboration from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington for a better understanding and measure of cost structures of health providers. This project is financed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation present in various countries, being PROESA its partner in Colombia.

Likewise, PROESA has engaged with The World Bank, which sponsors it, on a research project about the fiscal and financial sustainability of the health system in Colombia. Within this context, an analysis was conducted about the different health entities accountability´s and their organizational government structures.

PROESA promotes applied research in economic evaluation of health technologies. In 2011 it carried out an international symposium about the issue with the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence from United Kingdom. In 2012 it offered an array of courses about effectivity-cost with Universidad Icesi.

The Evaluation Institute of Health Technology (IETS) chose the consortium Universidad Icesi-PROESA- Fundación Valle del Lili as one of its centers for external evaluation. These centers will provide and promote synthesis and use of scientific evidence with the purpose of disseminating the health decision making in Colombia.

PROESA has collaborated with the Harvard Global Equity Initiative, in the context of the Global Task Force on Expanded Cancer Care and Control in the Developing World (GTG.CCC), to estimate the cost of providing medicine for the treatment of cancer on a world scale, especially in developing countries. PROESA also contributed with Task Force´s report published in 2012 by the Harvard University Press.

Also, PROESA has worked jointly with Universidad Icesi and FVL as well as their respective entities. These include the research unit at FVL (classified as a level A by Colciencias) and the CIDEI (Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Médicas), collaboration center of the World Health Organization.
