Abstract

One of the most succesful services is Instant Messaging (IM), due to the versatility and simplicity offered to users. Because of the success of mobile telephony, new horizons have been developed for IM. However, the diversity existing in protocols and transport technologies have lead the technology to a low interoperability environment.
