Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks. E-portfolios are both demonstrations of the user’s abilities and platforms for self-expression, and, if they are online, they can be maintained dynamically over time. Some e-portfolio applications permit varying degrees of audience access, so the same portfolio might be used for multiple purposes.” Â

El portafolio virtual es una herramienta que permite integrar en un sólo lugar la información académica de los profesores investigadores de la Universidad Icesi.  Como estrategia para aumentar la visibilidad de producción intelectual de los profesores investigadores se ha agrupado en tres las herramientas para el uso de los profesores y asegurar una adecuada interacción y complementaridad entre ellas. A continuación se listan los tres grupos:

Repositorios de documentos [ Biblioteca Digital, Repositorio Académico]

Herramientas web 2.0 [Wiki, Blogs, Foros]

Entornos virtuales de aprendizaje [LMS : Moodle, OCW : Open Course Ware]
Los repositorios de documentos permite almacenar los archivos en formatos pdf, word, excel, powerpoint resultado del trabajo de investigación y de preparación de clase, los cuales pueden ser utilizados posteriormente como insumos para el resto de herramientas.  El Repositorio Académico y la Biblioteca Digital están registrados en el “Registry of Open Access Repositories ROAR” y en la Biblioteca Digital Nacional. , proyecto financiado por COLCIENCIAS, en el cual la Universidad Icesi participó.
El portafolio virtual contiene un conjunto de plantillas que permiten la construcción de páginas web muy elaboradas de una manera muy fácil, integrando asà toda la información sobre la producción intelectual de los profesores investigadores.
