Talk given in the 50th anniversary of Software Engineering

In 1968, a NATO’s Commission of Science defined Software Engineering as the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software; that is, the application of engineering to software development.

This year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Software Engineering, and in this presentation, Prof. G. Tamura abstracts the history of the discipline, and some lessons still to learn.
