Sessions of the summer school will be in English, in the form of lectures (1.5 hours each) and hands-on labs (2 hours each). In general, each lecture is matched with a tutorial session that will allow students to practice the main studied concepts. The lectures will take place in conventional classrooms with video projectors, boards, and air conditioning.
Lectures typically begin with an introduction to the fundamental concepts and an exploration of the state of the art of the subject. Then, the researcher who introduced the subject proceeds to present the theory and practice from his/her recent work. The tutorials will be held in computer rooms and make extensive use of computers, middleware, and other tools. Depending on the tutorial, participants may be asked to install software artifacts in advance. In this case, all the required software will be provided to participants before the event.
This summer school will offer valuable opportunities to develop new collaborative research networks among participants. For this, the agenda includes time slots dedicated to individual meetings and discussions, as well as a special counseling session where attendees can interact personally with visiting researchers. For this, students will have the opportunity to present posters based on their research. This is a great opportunity for industry representatives, students and researchers to receive feedback on topics of interest by visiting researchers and other attendees.
