Abstract

This article detail of general way the advance of a master’s thesis developed within the framework of the Group of Investigation, Development and Application in Telecommunications and Informatics (GIDATI) af the Pontifical Bolivariana University. First stage of the project consists on the classification of wireless channel models and the identification of which they apply to the work conditions of the systems defined by the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard. The second phase corresponds to the comparative analysis of these models and to their implementation in the ICS Telecom software of the French company ATDI in order to optimize some pro­cesses related to the design of these networks. The results have allowed to date deducing some important conclusions and to contribute to sup­port other research and development activities in execution currently.
