ARN: returing to civil life

Abstract

Colombia is going through a key period of transition following the peace agreement with the FARC. Although the country had previously faced collective demobilizations of other groups outside the law, it represents the arrival of massive ex-combatants of the largest armed group in the country, seeking to settle in different areas of the country. However, unlike the previous processes, this time these people seeking to rejoin and normalize in civil society, have the support of ARN and their experience of 15 years in the implementation of the reintegration route, which has been recognized internationally for its success levels with a recidivism rate of only 1% of those who have successfully completed this route.
