NOTE: Summer School 2020 Rescheduled for 2021
Considering the recent evolution of COVID-19, the Organizing Committee of our 2020 Summer School has decided to cancel the event for this year.
Despite the relative low mortality of the virus, the uncertainty worldwide makes unfeasible to continue with the organization of this kind of events.Furthermore, considering the consequences we are having in our economies and health systems, we must act responsibly by following all advices that the institutions of our Summer School Lecturers in USA and Canada, and ours here in Colombia, are providing. The idea is to have our Summer School in 2021 in June 28th – July 3rd.
The Summer School Organizing Committee
The Summer School in Software Engineering: Emergent and Convergent Technologies, to be held between June 30 and July 4 2020, is organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technologies, the I2T / DRISO research group of the Icesi University (Colombia) and the Rigi Research research group of the University of Victoria (Canada).
The main objective of the summer school is to offer participants a broad view of the concepts and current practice of emergent technologies whose convergence are nowadays impacting different areas of computing in general, and software engineering in particular, namely, Machine Learning, Continuous Software Engineering, Quantum Computing and Cloud & Edge Computing. In addition, it seeks to promote joint work in the appropriation, application and exploitation of these aspects between the academy, the ICT industry and the state. Finally, with this summer school we hope to contribute to the strengthening of ---and development of new--- collaboration networks between research groups on the topics to be addressed, not only in Colombia, but at the Latin American, and worldwide levels.
The summer school is mainly aimed at master's and doctoral students, and industry professionals in the area of ICT who are interested in seminars and practical workshops on cutting-edge topics taught by pioneering researchers in the areas of interest of summer school.
This 2nd edition of the Colombian Summer School on Software Engineering will be held at the Icesi University campus, in the tropical, thriving and lively city of Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
