Right of the transsexual person in Brazil

It is intended that this work make a brief historical incursion on transsexuality, taking care of the main studies and events that brought subsidies to the open discussion of the phenomenon, considering, especially, studies of the 1950s, one of the most recognized surgical interventions and, Afterwards, the studies of the endocrinologist Harry Benjamin, going through the considerations of John Money, Stoller and others, to the regulation of the transgenitalization surgery in Brazil in the year 1997 and its subsequent service by the Unified Health System in the year of 2008. It is also important , To discuss the concept of transsexuality, to bring important definitions about «sex», «gender» and «gender identity», without which a better understanding of the subject would not be possible, in order to finally deal with the individual rights
of the person Especially their right to marry in the field of individual relations.
