University WELLBEING

University WELLBEING

The University Wellbeing Office (Bienestar Universitario) provides extracurricular activities in the areas of culture, sports and recreation, personal development, and social projects directed towards the social, emotional, and physical development of the students, educators, and administrative staff that constitute the Icesi community.
The University Wellbeing Office reinforces students’ values and abilities and seeks to provide a well-rounded education. All of its campus activities are provided free of charge.

Why study in Colombia?

Colombia lies in a distinctive geographical location and is one of the most dynamic countries in Latin America. CALI

Cali is located in Valle del Cauca 100 kilometers from the Pacific port of Buenaventura. It is the second most important city in Colombia after Bogotá. Cali has one of the fastest growing economies in the country and is also the principal urban, cultural, economic, and industrial center of southwestern Colombia.
The city is a salsa music mecca, which has led to the development of a cultural industries sector. This has in turn contributed to the city’s service-oriented economy, which attracts a significant number of tourists. Cali offers a region full of nature, adventure, and entertainment. It is an ideal place to have a fully South American experience.

Technology on Campus

Universidad Icesi has Wi-Fi connection throughout campus. It also features computer labs with the latest technology, virtual library resources, and a state of the art document services center that includes printing, scanning and photocopying services.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services provides Icesi students the opportunity to receive free professional medical services while on campus. Our dedicated staff is here to help students achieve and maintain optimum physical, mental, and emotional health. To ensure privacy, all communications and medical records are kept confidential and available only to the student. It is mandatory for international students to acquire international insurance so that in case of an emergency situation, they can be attended to at any hospital in the city.

Campus Security

Universidad Icesi offers a full service security agency. The Campus Security Department employs fully-sworn peace officers trained and regulated to protect the entire university community. The university additionally has a closed security system, private security staff, a direct connection to the National Police and emergency phones located on each floor of all campus buildings.

Hi, I'm Kirsten Hartmann and I'm from the University of Erfurt in Germany. Here I study political science with an emphasis on international relations. I chose Colombia for my exchange semester because I have been in some countries in Latin America and people have always told me that Colombia is the best. There is everything here, there is nature and big cities to incredibly beautiful beaches! That variety fascinates me! I decided to go to Cali because it is not too big nor a small city. There is a lot to explore. People are very friendly, they always want to help me and what is there to complain about in a city with so much sun?! Also, I chose Icesi, because it offers many different courses for my career with very broad and interesting approaches and has several teachers from different countries. I hope to have an unforgettable time here at Icesi, in Cali!
