Universidad Icesi, is a private, nonprofit University in Cali, Colombia, founded in 1979 by regional business leaders who still support the University in many ways, including financially.
Icesi's campus sits on 35 acres of prime real estate in Cali, a vibrant hub of industries and universities, with a mix of cultures and access to the Pacific basin markets. Construction of the campus began in 1989; today, it consists of 23 state-of-the-art buildings with cutting-edge technology. Universidad Icesi was created through the generous donations of leading companies involved in the institution’s governing bodies through their representatives on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors. The participation of these business leaders in our governing bodies guarantees engagement, innovation, and impact in our major strategic decisions.
Universidad Icesi offers 29 Undergraduate programs, 33 Master’s programs, 26 Medical specialties, and 2 Doctoral programs, as well as a diverse portfolio of Executive Education programs that meet the needs of professionals with various academic backgrounds.
Our students represent the academic elite in Colombia. Our admission criteria are highly selective, and the undergraduate programs consistently rank in the top ten in the SABER PRO standardized national test.

We have exchange agreeements with world-class universities such as: Bimtech (India); Griffith (Australia); Chile (Chile); ESAN (Perú); Pompeu Fabra (España); Montpellier (Francia); Manheim (Alemania); Monterrey (México); ESPOL (Ecuador); ORT (Uruguay); Austral (Argentina); Nottingham Trent (UK), among others.
We also have dual degree programs with Tulane University in the U.S., Montpellier Business School, ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management, and ESSCA École de Management in France.
Our Graduate students are required to take at least one course abroad in universities such as the Illinois Institute of Technology in the U.S., Universidad de Valencia, Tecnocampus in Spain, and ESAN in Peru.
Every year we host visiting students from Universidad de Chile and exchange students from all over the world. We also have multiple options for international internships and study abroad programs in well-known universities in the U.S., France, Germany, Chile, and Spain, among others.
Accreditated from the AACSB for the first time in 2014 and then was reaccredited in 2019.
Accreditated for the first time from AMBA in 2010 and reaccreditaded in 2014 and 2019.
Since 2017, the School of Business and Economics has been a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society (BGS), an international society that recognizes business students from universities and schools accredited by the AACSB.

Entrepreneurship Development Center - CDEE
This Center is an academic unit whose purpose is to train more and better entrepreneurs, for more and better companies, through training, consulting and mentoring for the development of entrepreneurial skills, the birth and business growth.
Foreign Trade Office - ICECOMEX
It is an academic center, created to provide students, entrepreneurs and people interested in international trade topics, access to quality and accurate information related to foreign trade, through advisory services, business visits, information forums, and publications.
Public Policy Observatory - POLIS
Polis is an academic unit of the Universidad Icesi, created in 2005 to monitor and evaluate public policies of general interest for the social and economic development of the region. One of the main strengths of POLIS is to bridge political authorities and civilians as a mechanism to keep the public informed and hold the government for its performance.
Observatory for Corporate Sustainability - KAIRÓS
The core mission is to assess the corporate sustainability performance of public institutions and private firms through the analysis of their strategies and results. One of the key activities is to review and analyze corporate sustainability reports, promoting economic sustainable development. The Observatory produces a key global index on corporate sustainability, available via web access. Kairos fosters sustainability practices and strategies by academic research, publication, consulting and education.
Research Center in Economics and Finance - CIENFI
This center was created in 2006 to contribute through economic and financial studies to local and national discussions on economic development, business environment, and public and private finances.
