The purpose of the Specialty in Neurosurgery is to train the general practitioner to acquire the theoretical, clinical-surgical and laboratory knowledge that will allow him/her to develop a high degree of autonomy in clinical decision making at the end of the study period.
The program is configured in relation to the program offered in the United States (governed by the joint commission of the American Association of Neurosurgery AANS and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons CNS), is recognized worldwide by patients, society in general, health systems, universities, and is endorsed and represented outside the university by different associated and scientific societies such as WFSN (World Federation of Neurosurgery), AASN (American Association of Neurosurgery), CNS (Congress of Neurological Surgeons), SCNC (The Colombian Association of Neurosurgery) and the respective national societies in the world.
